Problems outputing whites
Hi there,
I edited a music video which was shot before a white screen. The white screen was not real lit out right, so I have to do some luminance, chroma and color correction filtering. So far so good. I got a white background and all looks pretty good in FCP. The footage is HD (Canon 5DMK2) converted to Apple Pro Res, 1980x1080px. When I export the vid same as source in full resolution it looks pretty good that mean the whites are white. When I now go through the compressor or through mpegstreamclip to downscale a webversion (H.264, 640x360px) my keyed white background is a little yellowish and I see all my keyings. I have no idea why? Anybody an idea what’s going on? Has it something to do with the h.264 codec?

Yeah. It does.
H.264 is what was shot. Great delivery format. Low end color space (lousy color info), but OK for looking only… Makes playbackable pretty pics. But the data is small right? so you LOSE too much for effects work for shur…
Can you post some of this somewhere for us to download? Might run it past Color…
