I have Illustrator 10 and Photoshop 7 running and I am trying to make a GIF file with transparency for my desktop. It is just my company name in Cooper type. I type the name to a desired size, create outlines and then do some outlining of the type and a white fill. Done.

This is all done in illustrator. I save the ai file and then try to Export or Save As to GIF, but can not find. The only way I have even been able to access the gif format is by opening the AI file in Photoshop and then going to grayscale. But the resultant gif is not transparent.

How do I do get a real transparent GIF?

    where’s the image?

did you try to look for the new images folder? (in the same folder as the exported html file)

I finally found it with a complete search. I think that we need to be very careful where we put stuff 🙂
