problems copying a large QT file onto external drive
Posted by Vanessa Shaw on July 15, 2010 at 6:43 pmI am trying to copy a 6GB Quicktime file from my G5 to a 16GB USB flash drive. Keep getting an error. Why is this? This has happened in the past, but with larger QT files not being able to copy onto an external drive. Is it an issue with USB limitations?
Thanks!

In case you need to format the USB Stick still into a partition type that is compatible with PC, you have to download following free application – with this you can create on your MAC NTFS partition for PC, and it can be bigger than 4GB!!!!!:https://macupdate.com/info.php/id/24481/ntfs-3g

July 15, 2010 at 7:29 pmI’m actually on a Mac, so am not looking to be compatible with PC. But will the software on that link help solve my problem and allow me to load a file larger than 4GB on the flash drive?
Thanks!

July 15, 2010 at 7:41 pmYes, this software, will give you the option to make in “Disk Utility” a NTFS Partition System on your PC – that is the new format version for PCs – it allows files bigger than 4 GB – and it’s readable by PC and MAC.
It’s a little jewel that App!!!!!!Sascha

July 15, 2010 at 9:35 pmActually, I think the problem is that the USB stick came pre-formatted as PC FAT32.
Just reformat it as Mac and be done with it.
