I’m using FCPro v.4 and trying to capture to a Windows 2003 based server. My capture window shows the message “Allocating Disk Space,” then it times out. So, I can’t capture this way.

But, I can edit using video that’s already on the server with no problem. I simply transfer the footage to the server after I’ve captured it to my hard drive.

Anyone know a way to avoid this intermediary step?

My total guess would be that the server needs be formatted for Mac… not windows… do know that if it is formatted that way, it probably would do the job. Any chance of that happening?
