Problems capturing – can’t see video in preview pane
Man, I need help here.
I can’t capture video. The capture device seems set up properly (JVC model GR-D32U), and I’m using the proper firewire and card. I can control my camera through Premier – so the camera and software are at least talking to each other.
I’ve been checking help sites, and after disabling windows messenger, all of a sudden I was able to view the video in the preview pane (a fluke, I think). I thought all my problems had gone, but when I went back in (even going to the same clip I saw earlier) the same old problem resumed… can’t capture video. It lets me set an in and out for a clip, but won’t preview it or capture it. I’m also not sure the timecodes are continuous – but I should at least be able to capture individual clips.
It would seem that this is a completely simple thing – but it’s driving me nuts! I wish I could recreate exactly what I did to make the preview window work. Any suggestions out there? As you can tell, I’m a bit of a novice.

It happened to me as well when capture DVCAM, no image in the capture window, then one day I clicked on the Capture screen on the top in the blue part of the screen and dragged the to the left and the image appeared. It still happened to me from time to time, then click in the blue top frame and drag the capture screen a little

thanks for the suggestion, but no luck. I’m sure it’s something like that though. I think it must have to do with some setting. Anyone else out there have an idea? help… starting to go mad…
