I am having aspect ratio problems burning DVD projects created with PP 1.5 and exported to Encore.

I am capturing 16:9 footage shot on a Sony Z1U camera. I am down converting to SD with the “squeeze” setting on the camera. Everything looks fine and edits flawlessly in PP.

When I export a “movie” file and then import it into Encore and try to burn a DVD the aspect ratio is off. I have used all of the transcoding settings before saving the file in PP. I’ve tried all of the various transcoding settings in Encore. A square pixel setting and the D1/DV widescreen setting looks fine in the Encore preview window but is not right when played back on three DVD players I have.

Obviously, there is some setting I am missing. Would like help from anyone who has a clue.

If you are using ENCORE 2.0, there is a checkbox for 1:33 or 16:9 at the bottom of your settings page for compresion details etc.
