    Hi everyone: here’s the project…

I have a normal DVD which has a three minute, generic film advertising a show coming to our theatre. At the very end is a visual-only “tag” with dates and times for another venue. The audio is still okay for everyone.
I’m simply importing the DVD using Add Media, fading the video quickly close to the end and layering a Title with our venue dates instead over the top.
Very easy. (and legal- we have the promoter’s blessing)
However, although the original DVD plays as standard 4:3 Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 is replaying it as 16:9, “squashing” the vision into a letterbox and creating quite visible trailing artifacts during fast movements (waving arms, etc, are ghosted on the screen).
So far, none of my Preference or Project seem to suggest why this is happening.
    Can anyone help?

    Cheers, Graeme.

I’m not sure that this is the source of your problem, but are you trying to work with the Mpeg2 file directly off of the DVD? If so, try converting that file to .avi, then bring it into Premiere and see if that solves your problem.
