    Hi Everyone,

I have a bit of a problem that I can’t seem to sort out.

    I’ve got the below video…

with the below mask over it….

the tracks are laid out like this:

The track labelled 3 is the mask, 4 is the actor and 5 is the background that has an on/off strobing effect on it and what happens with the mask is below:

As you can see, when the strobe light is on, you can see the masked actor but he’s semi-transparent, when the strobe goes off and the background becomes black, the actor disappears completely. What I’m trying to achieve is that the actor be completely opaque at all times.

I’m sure there must be something pretty simple to fix this issue but I’ve nearly had an aneurysm trying to get it working.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

    Arrange it like this:

Track 3 is the actor, set the track compositemode to multiply (mask).
Track 4 is the mask, set the track to be a child of track 3 and add the mask generator FX to the mask video.
    Track 4 is the background.
