We have the Black Magic HD Extreme and are trying to show work on the PAL TV with it. The signal is going from the card straight into the TV and the picture comes through fine. The problem is that it has jagged edges on some of the objects. It looks like interlacing. How do we get a smooth image on the TV? We have tried everything and any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    Greg.

Is this happening on playback or when the image is paused?

It’s happening on playback on the PAL television. We have a HDMI Cable that links the card from the Mac to an HD Sony Bravia and then RGB cables to a Pal Sony TV. The playback on the Pal screen has a jaggered edge. Is it possible to play the picture back on the HD screen at Pal resolution without stretching the picture to an HD res?

Are you working from an SD interlaced project?
And is the footage interlaced too?
