  • Problem with Text Placement moving after rendering

Posted by Ken Mather on April 19, 2011 at 6:29 pm

I’m a fairly new Vegas Pro user (less than a year). Started with version 9, now at 10, but still having same problem. I produce a series of training videos for my company, and throughout the video, I have inserted arrows to point to specific items on the screen. The way I inserted the arrows was by inserting Text Media, then using the Wingdings 3 font which certain characters become arrows. When using placement, I align them with the exact point they need to go to as seen on the preview, however after rendering, they have moved, not much, but enough to not be correct. I have to continually use trial and error to move it out of position (according to the preview), in hopes that it will end up in the right place after rendering.
Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated as this problem is a major time consumer.
    Thanks!

Make sure your video matches your project properties and that your preview window is set to Best/Full/

[Mike Kujbida] “Make sure your video matches your project properties and that your preview window is set to Best/Full/”

…and if that doesn’t work. Make sure that your project properties match your render properties so that you don’t get any more surprises. This usually happens when the aspect ratio of your project differs from the aspect ratio of your render because that causes things to get moved and resized.

That was the problem. Rendering matches preview identically now. Thanks so much for your help!!!
