I’m fairly new to after effects but i’m trying to animate some text that’s being put on top of a video. See 0:26 the word ‘spinning’ as an example of what i’m trying to achieve. https://youtu.be/Pn-6eOxnEMI?t=22s

Basically I want the word to enlarge/go out of focus like it’s getting too close to the screen, then quickly go back to the normal size. I’ve been using the sure target plugin/watching lots of tutorials but no luck thus far.

To do it I would animate the text’s scale to say: 1st frame = 5% scale, 10th frame scale = 120%, 15th frame = 100%. Make the middle and last frame an easy ease. Add a lens blur or Gaussian blur. Have the blur set to 0 at say frame 12. Then crank it up to around 10 for frame 16. Then back to 0 a few frames later. Hope this helps and best of luck.
