I’m having a problem with the Speech Analysis tool in Premiere CS6. The “Analyze” button in the metadata window is greyed out. I’ve also tried right-clicking on the clip from the project window bin and it’s greyed out there as well.

I’ve seen a few older posts that suggested it might me a permissions issue on source file being “read only.” But I’ve check that and it looks as though I’ve got read and write permissions.

    I’m on a MacPro running OS 10.8.3
Footage is on a shared drive (Promise Thunderbolt Raid) attached to a 2012 i5 Mac Mini running 10.7.4.
Footage was shot on a Panasonic P2 HPX300 using the AVCIntra 50 format

There is no issue watching, editing or exporting the footage.

Any thoughts on what I might be missing?

    Hi Steve,

Make sure those permissions are on all folders, from the CONTENT folder to all subfolders and files.

    That should do the trick.

    Hi Vince,

I checked every file in the contents folder/subfolders and everything was set to read/write. I’ll try moving the files across the network onto a local drive to see if that makes any difference, but if there’s anything else i can check, I’d welcome the feedback.

    thanks,
    Steve
