I opened a project in Premiere Pro 2 that I had created in Premiere Pro 1.0. When I did, the QT files on the timeline were blank. There were markers for them, but they held no video (a blank white field was displayed in my program monitor). Same problem trying to play them from the project window.

More info: I can play these particluar QT files fine in After Effects 7 and in Premiere Pro 1.0 — also in the QT player. Also, I created a new QT file in AE and it plays fine in Premiere Pro 2. The QT files that are a problem were created on Flash 5 a number of years ago.

Not sure if this is the problem but in the project manager, right click the file-choose interpret footage and check the box “ignore alpha”

I tried that and nothing changed (but thanks for the suggestion — it seemed like a plausible idea).

One other thing — when ever I open the project in PP2, I get a window saying this:

“The title’s video settings differ from your project’s. Convert this title’s video settings?”

I don’t know what this means, but it makes no difference whether I choose “yes” or “no” — the QT clips still don’t show as anything but blank white screens.
