  • Problem with Pantone Printing in Illustrator

Hi all. I hope someone could help me with this. I had set a logo created in Illustrator 10 with color Pantone Process Cyan C which I thought was a true 100% cyan. However, when I received the piece from my printer, I noticed some magenta mixed in it as well. I went into my original file in Illustrator, double-clicked on the swatch in the Swatches window, and saw that it was pure cyan (100-0-0-0). However, when I clicked on the color in the Color window, I noticed that it read 71-35-0-0, which explains why the cyan wasn’t pure on the printout. I don’t understand why this is happening. Should I have chosen a different Pantone color, and if so, which one in order to get a pure cyan? Please help!
