Problem with OMF Download
Hi Guys,
I uploaded a 1 GB OMF file via FTP to a space on my website. Upon downloading it, the audio post house says the file just looks like a bunch of jumbled characters. I just looked at it too and saw the same thing.Can anyone help me figure out what’s going on here?

Did it have the .omf extension on it?
Any odd charecters (spaces, slashes, etc.)?

Yes, it has a .omf extension. It looks like this: XYZ.omf
Three capital letters and a dot omf in lower case letters. Of course there is a slash before the file name to go to the right directory on my web site.

Try zipping it.

Wish I could. I’m away from home for the holiday. I left the computer on so I could access it if I can find a Mac with 10.5. Any other ideas?

John’s right. Gotta zip it. Uploading the bare file can, and will, corrupt it.

Well, could not get back to my Mac to upload the file, so I just have the audio post house access to my website. They can use Transmit or another FTP client to log in to my site and download the file that way. Going to work like a charm.
