I have a Panasonic DVCPRO AJD650 that I want to play a mini-dv out of. It plays the video fine but it won’t play the audio.

But yet I have another deck same model that plays it fine.

I already went through the menus to line them up (even the engineering menu that you need a special tape to access) but it still does not play it.

I would use the other deck but that has some other issues with it.

So what’s up with this? Do I have to physically go into the boards and turn a dial?

    TIA

    Sam

On some DVCPRO VTRs I’ve used, they do a terrible job of playing back mini-DV (and fine with DVCPRO). There are dropouts even if the deck has time to get the tape speed right. Maybe something similar is happening??? Just a wild guess.

Take a look at the channel condition- is it good?
