Problem With MPEG Clips
I have several MPG clips I want to combine and author in Vegas DVDA 5.0B. GSpot tells me they are MPEG1 clips and that I have the proper codec for the file installed on my equipment. They play OK with WMP and Nero Player. I would like to edit the clips, but realizing the resulting quality may be poor, I’ll settle for creating some titles and transitions between clips. The uncompressed clips are flash files and likely are not available.
When the .MPG file is dropped onto the Vegas 7.0E or Vegas 9.0C timeline, the video track exists but is blank. The audio track appears to be OK and plays fine. When the .MPEG file is opened in DVDA 5.0B the clips say “Render Failure” with little “no” symbols in the four corners of the clip. When preview is turned on in DVDA the audio plays fine but with a blank video screen.
The MPEG clips I want to stick in Vegas are most likely from a Flash source. Vegas 7 reports them as: 425x319x32, 24.000 fps progressive, 00:00:59:09, MPEG-1. I tried using the file specs as a custom template but the results are the same … audio is fine with a blank video track.
So Vegas recognizes the video stream but I can’t figure out how to get Vegas to display the video in the timeline.
What can I do to correct this?
