Problem with extruded graphic disslove
I added a simple psd logo to my FCP 7 project. I added a filter to “extrude” the logo to give it some dimension and added key frames to have the logo size increase over a few seconds. My problem is that when I dissolve in and out of it, there is a slight jump in the logo…hard to explain, but the amount and size of the extruded shadow cuts to a different amount in the space of one frame. It makes for a less than smooth dissolve when you see the logo “jump” through the dissolve. I have tried using keyframes to do the dissolve and by adding a cross dissolve…same result. any help would be appreciated.

May be its better to export the scene into motion and do the logoanimation there.
The logo in PS exists probably with all the PS layers. I think there’s the problem. To me Motion is the better toll to animate logos.
When you finished in Motion just export the Film as a QT in your Codec, you are using back to FCP.Rainer

Unfortunately, i have not used motion before…so not sure exactly how to do this.

you should get your head into it: I do all grphics (Logos, Titles) in Motion and they look great, much better than in FCP.
First of all you export the filmbit you need the logo in as QT movie in your Timeline format. You open Motion and import the QT. You import your logo. You have to know how long you want to see the logo.
You drag the logo into the Motion TL. Now you can start to move it.
Perhaps you should do the tutorial of Motion first.Good luck
