  • Problem with editing window for vegas

Posted by Joseph Losing on March 5, 2011 at 12:26 am

When I drag or select an effect in vegas, no window pops up allowing me to customize the effect. This causes it to be virtually impossible to edit beyond a very elementary level. Can anyone help? Why is the option not popping up? Is it somewhere else?

    Thanks.

Go to view, then Windows Layouts and click Default Layout to try
to reset your window layouts and see if things return to normal.

Steve, will the Default Layout option produce the same result – viz Windows Layout – as the Factory reset?

Default Layout returns window positions to the factory defaults – I think it’s the same as Factory Reset but only affects window positions/docking.

However, it won’t get your effects window back if you mistakenly dragged it outside the Vegas window or under the taskbar. Try unlocking and collapsing your taskbar (right-click on taskbar, uncheck the Unlock option, then drag the top edge of the taskbar down so it collapses to a thin line. Reverse this process when you’re done) and looking for the effects window there.

This might also happen if you change desktop resolution during editing.

    Thanks Matt,
Yesterday I´ve reinstall Vegas to try resolve this “bug”
Believe me, even if you reinstall Vegas, the windows dropped out of the Vegas window continue out there!

My VideoFX and Ultimate were under the taskbar.
