Problem with DVCPro50 footage
I’m having some problem working with DVCPro50 footage. The problem starts already in the log and capture window. I get black borders (not too thick) on the sides of the image. My setting seem to be correct: Settings:
Sequence:
DV50 Pal
Frame size: 720 x 576 (Aspect ratio: CCIR 601 / DV PAL (5:4)
Pixel aspect ratio: PAL CCIR 601 (720 x 576)Capture:
Frame size: 720 x 576 CCIR 601 / DV PAL (5:4)
Compressor: DVCPro 50
And the problem is still there in the viewer and canvas in FCP.
My footage was recorded in 4:3. I know that in a TV monitor these borders won’t appear but the project is going to be seen in a computer monitor in most cases. Yes, I know I can crop the image, but my question is: is this normal? Does it has to do something with the aspect ratio (which seems to be correct)? Is it something with the deck (Panasonic SD93)? Should I keep on with the capturing regarding this problem? This is my first time working with DVCPro50 in FCP, so I’m kind of lost about what kind of setting I may be missing? I hope someone can help me with this issue. Thanks!
