problem with dv-device in final cut pro 5
I just updated my final cut pro 4.5 to final cut pro studio, I also updated my OS to Tiger (and of course was stupid enough neither to clone nor to keep an old version of the program)
and from now on my FCP can’t recognise my DV-device((s) – I tried with different cameras and players.)It seems to be a problem with the new OS (before it worked without problems) and when I looked at the apple-support-forum I found out, that I am not the only one …
Till now non of the tricks found at the apple-page worked for me. (What I didn’t do yet is to reinstall the older FCP-Version — but I am a little bit upset because I bought 8 FCPs – for my students …)
Maybe one of you figured out how to solve that … ??

You say you tried the “Apple Fixes”.
Did you use the following link? (Many others have had good results here).

Another thing to try is to TRASH your FCP Preferences.

A great way to do this is to use “FCP Rescue” a free Apple Script that will Trash the Preferences for you (and restore nearly all of your user settings afterward).
