  Problem with burning – maybe media?

  Well, I just got my new Pioneer external DVR-S806. I tried burning a project from ReelDVD and it crashed. So I downloaded RecordNow and that crashed, too. I’ve been troubleshooting as if it was a hardware/driver issue. But I just looked at the DVDs and they are getting some info burned to them. I have Maxell DVD-Rs. There is a faint ring about 1/4 inch in on all the blank DVDs. I can see that on the DVDs that I’ve tried burning, the data is getting burned right up to that ring and that is where it is crashing. So could this be a media problem? Or is that ring a standard thing on a blank DVD?

  Anyone have any Maxells they can check for me? Or other suggestions?
