    Hello,

I am experiencing a bizarre problem with AVI Type 1 and 2 files. I captured some video with Premiere 6.0 and the clips were automatically saved as AVI Type 2 files, but when the project is exported using the DV500 preset it is saved as an AVI Type 1 file. The problem is that when I then convert this file to the NTSC format the resulting file is not accepted by Premiere; it does not even get a proper icon like the other AVI files I have.

What’s up with this? Last time I tried this there was no problem, and no change has been made to either Premiere or the PAL/NTSC converter. I tried converting the PAL file to both AVI Type 1 and AVI Type 2 NTSC AVI files but none of them are recognised by Premiere (or anything else on my computer).

Is this a codec issue? Is it possible to force Premiere to export the project as an AVI Type 2 file, and would it even make a difference?

    Thanks,

    Tom

    What are your export settings?

Frame size 720 x 576, 25 fps, 16:9 widescreen, export work area only, no audio export, pixel aspect ratio 1.422, codec is Pinnacle DV500.

    Thanks.
