Problem with audio effects – Final Cut 7
Hello!
I’m currently editing a project on FCP7 and have a problem with the audio effects.
I’m trying to lower the pitch on certain clips but when I do some of them seem to fall out of sync or go completely silent.
What can I do to circumvent this? -

if you lower the speed of the audio clip, it will also lower the pitch, BUT it will be a different duration (longer),
so maybe that’s what made your clip go out of sync?adding the Pitch Audio Filter should not affect sync
(actually i’ve seen it slip the sync by a frame on export)
this filter CAN NOT be scrubbed, so when it’s applied, if you try to scrub the audio, it will appear to be silent
it can only be played in real time.a tip for this filter:
it takes a few frames to settle in. the first few frames will sound scratchy and crackly,
so trim the clip back 12 frames, say, or a second,
and volume graph that extension down.nick

Dave, is the pitch effect in STP better than FCP?
ok i just tried it..
surprisingly, i think the FCP one is better.

i see.
i hardly ever use STP,
but i just tried using the Audio Stretching Tool.
could only make my file shorter not longer for some reason,
still it didn’t sound as good as the FCP AUPitch effect.but i think the OP wants to change pitch with changing duration.
