Problem with an introduction for my video

What file type do you recommend i ask them for?

I like MXF (as does Vegas) but without knowing any more details, it’s hard to pick one over another.
What format is the original video?

I was given it as an Mp4

Vegas “should” be able to open an mp4 file.
What version of QuickTime player do you have installed on your computer?
Can you have the file sent to you in a different format such as MXF?

Im not sure what version of quick time I have installed. I can ask to have the file sent as an MFX

Launch QT player and go “Help – About QuickTime Player”.

Probably your best option as MXF files work very well in Vegas.

Unfortunately I cant get on the PC with Sony Vegas until Saturday, but i will be sure to let you know then!

Lesson learnt here:-

**** We need to manage our expectations with Vegas in that we can’t assume that getting Media from a 3rd Party will conform correctly allowing Vegas to play *****

Hence my original question and the clear pathway that Mike showed.

I have just got back and tried to convert the original file from an mp4 to an MXF although nothing had changed. What do you recommend I do now?
