  • Problem with 3D Text and 3D Camera Tracker inside Comp

Posted by Jeremy Mccloud on December 8, 2014 at 6:22 pm

I have a 3d Camera Tracker on a video and some 3d text attached to one of the points. Everything works like it should inside this comp, but when I go to the comp that this comp is contained in, it no longer tracks the text and the text just sits there on top of the video. Yet, when I go back into that comp, it shows the text tracking to the point like it should.

This has happened to me more than once and i can’t figure out why. Usually I’d just copy the layers into the main comp to fix it, but I’d really like to stay organized and keep the camera tracker and 3d text inside of this comp.

Does anyone know what’s causing this behavior and how I can fix it?

Do you have Collapse Transformations enabled for the comp layer? If so, turn it off, as it’s preventing the camera inside the precomp from being rendered.
