  • Problem with 1200a and frame dropping…

Has anyone else had issue with the 1200a dropping frames on long captures via firewire? We just finished a 3 camera shoot using external TC gens, and when i captured it left me with 6 or so clips. The problem was that it consistantly dropped 5 seconds between said clips. Not good for a concert video. I can’t cut around it. I am currently recapturing using the lovely cap now. assuming it doesn’t crash.

Any suggestions on how to fix? Is it as simple as a setting in the 1200a or in final cut? Is this one of the great limitations of FW caputure?

Yeah, dito here. Did you find a fix yet?
It worked before updating the OS to 10.3.9 and QT to 7. The OS was needed for a new large X-raid, but the QT just came in under the radar. Usually with QT updates that require a new key you still get the features from the old version from within another app.

But now we can’t capture anything over 10 seconds with the same setup you have. Very strange, I just did a feature in DVCPRO HD this winter without any capture problems.

Let us know if you fix it, and how.

    Thanks,

    Erik
