  • Problem when trying to render Composition.

Posted by Jason Meno on June 9, 2008 at 12:53 am

I have After Effects CS3, and have finished a segment of a composition that is only about 10 seconds long. I have tried rendering it, but when it is completed (which eerily only takes 1 second), the final product is just a single frame from the end of my composition. I don’t know what to do, and I have tried rendering it in different codecs and different file types.

It sounds like you don’t have your work area set to the entire length of the segment that you want to render. Go to the first frame you want to render and hit “B” on the keyboard. The little blue thing above the timeline should snap over to that. Now go to the last frame you want to render and hit “N” on the keyboard. The other little blue thing above the timeline should snap over to that. Now you’ve defined your work area. If you render now you should get everything between the two blue markers.
