  • Problem when rendering slo-mo – On a DEADLINE!

I am creating Spanish versions of English-speaking programs. Because there are some scenes in which the spanish is longer than the english, I am slowing down the footage… sometimes to 95%, 90%, 85%, 80%. All plays back looking fine in realtime with the timeline indicating bright green “preview.” I thought I was just about done with the project… but when I render the clips, the playback looks terrible – the frames going back and forth from sharp to blurry repeatedly. Am I doing something wrong in my settings?

I’m working in uncompressed 8bit with betacamSP NTSC footage.

    Thanks!

Is your playback set to High? Full frame rate?

Experiment with Frame blending. I sometimes find frame blending off yield better result than with it on.

    Good luck.

Yes. I created a new sequence and copied a 95% speed clip into it. Once again, it plays back fine in “Preview” (green) mode, but when I export it as a self-contained clip or render it, the blurriness happens.

I have tried best Normal and Best video processing settings with the same results.
