Problem Transferring Premiere CS 5.5 Project to new Mac
I’m trying and failing to transfer my Premiere CS 5.5 project from my old Macbook Pro to a new one. I start by gathering all the files by using the Collect Files and Copy to New Location in the Project Manager. The resulting folder (all 42 GB of it) lands on the desktop of the old Mac on which the project was created. I then copy this folder to a network drive, then from the network drive to the new Mac desktop. So far, so good I think. I open it in the same 5.5 loaded on the new Mac and both the timeline and resources seem to populate fine but before I can do anything the dreaded Mac spinning beachball of death pops up and the only way to get control back is to force-quit the program. Clearly Premiere is looking for something that it can’t find, but what? The Media Cache and Preview Files are right in the new folder along with everything else. What am I missing here?!?
