  • Problem to render to DivX/MP3

    Hi all,

I am more and more enjoying using Vegas Movie Studio 10.0 HD Platinum, however I am stuck with a render problem: any time I try to render to DivX/MP3, I have an error message popping up right at the beginning of the rendering process. The message is in French, but it would translate as follows:

“An error has occurred while creating multimedia file mymovie.avi.
An error has occurred while converting with a Codec.”

I tried many different settings, especially the following (as displayed in the template description – and after translated to English by myself):

    Audio : 56 Kbits/s; 24 000 Hz; Stereo; MP3
    Video : 25 fps; 1280 x 720 Higher field first; DivX
    pixel format : 1.000

Any idea of how to fix the problem ?

My guess is that it could come from the codec settings, so here is the list of Codecs I have on my PC:

    camcodec.dll
    CineForm HD VFW Codec
    DivX 6.9.2 Codec
    iccvid.dll
    Indeo video 5.10
    ir32_32.dll
    ir41_32.ax
    iyuv_32.dll
    msh261.drv
    msh263.drv
    msrle32.dll
    msvidc32.dll
    msyuv.dll
    tsbyuv.dll
    Xvid MPEG-4 Video Codec
    yv12vfw.dll

I get this list by doing :
    – right clic on “My Computer” in Windows Explorer
    – go to the “Hardware” tab
    – click the “Device Manager” button
    – in the tree, expand the node “Audio, Video and games controllers”
    – double clic the “Video codecs” sub-node

To anyone who manages to render to DivX/MP3: could you please check this list on your computer, and
tell me if you see any difference?

BTW the problem occurs even in the two following specific/minimal cases:
    – just an MP3 file on an audio track (no video at all)
    – just a JPG file on a video track (no audio at all)

On my PC, I have installed DivX Plus, including the DivX codec and DivX Converter.

    Thanks+++ for your help,
    Frédéric
