  • Problem Sending to COMPRESSOR

Posted by Steve Roberts on September 18, 2006 at 5:59 pm

I am trying to export a timeline to compressor but I keep getting the error message: “Selection contains no media”. The odd thing… I have several other timelines in this project that I just sent (about 30 minutes ago) to Compressor with no problems. Now, even when I try to send those timelines again, I get the error message. I have never had this problem before. Any suggestions?

    Using: 17″ Powerbook, 1.5gb ram, OSX 10.4.7
    FCP: Version 5.0.4

Save, Quit, restart FCP. Sometimes closing the timeline and re-opening it will also work. It’s some random bug that happens to us often.

Have you recently upgraded QT and/or Compressor? Meaning did everything work prior and now it doesn’t?

It’s been a problem since upgrading to 5.0… plus every update since then.

Here, Here! I will agree with that!

Just recently I sent out a DVCPRO HD timeline of roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes (a feature film) and it took it about 30 hours of rendering only to tell me that it couldn’t write the file. I was using the H.264 codec. My reason in doing this was to send a file to the guy working on the movie soundtrack. Anyway…. I wasted all weekend getting out a Quicktime file that I had to convert to an AVI file for my music guy.
