  • problem seeing HDV over Firewire

Posted by David Smith on April 7, 2006 at 9:08 pm

I’m trying to capture some HDV files via Firewire using FCP 5.0.4.

I have machine control and Timecode, but no video.
creating and trying to capture a clip results in an error message.

    My settings

    FCP settings-
Sequence Preset: HDV -1080i60 (as recorded)
    Capture Preset: HDV
    Device Control: HDV FireWire

    capturing from a Z1U camera
    In/Out menu settings-
    VCR: HDV
    i Link Conv: Off
    Down Convert: Squeeze

I must have something set wrong somewhere. Anyone have a suggestion?
    Thanks,
    David

[Creative Animal Jan] “reset deck, hit easy setup 1080i60 and try again”

That didn’t do it, though it was a good idea. Thanks.

try quitting fcp, copying codecs into library-quicktime folder.
I van send them to you if you want.
