Problem round tripping with Adobe PP CC
I am new to Resolve 10 lite
Sorry if this is a basic question but I am still learning how this program works.
I want to be able to edit a timeline in Adobe PP CC and then export it to do finishing in Resolve
After watching tutorials and reading parts of the manual I gave it a try, but failed.
Here’s what I did on my Mac pro with the latest Adobe Premier and Resolve 10 lite:
Export my edited timeline as a FCP xml.
Import FCP XML into resolve.
Leave “Load XML” window at default settings
Name new sequence as test and click OK
Then I get a window that says 9 of 9 clips not yet found.
Do you want to select anther folder to search.I select the folder I know contains the 9 clips
After a minute or so of Resolve looking, I get the same message again.
So I click no (as in do not look in anther folder for the clips)
Then anther window appears with a list of the offline clips. The top line says Start importing/.….
Each line says
The clip “00010991_01.mov” failed to link because the media file “xdcam” is missing or has the wrong timecode extents.So I make sure the project matches the TC, but still get same era
Sorry so long and not that clear, I appreciate any help

Are you able to actually open the clips in resolve regardless of XML?

Yes, I can get the same clip from the library and it works just fine in Resolve

Ok. Open all of the clips in resolve and make sure they all have unique timecode. Note the timecode on the couple of the clips. Do so in the media tab. Open the same clips in your premiere pro project and verify that they have the same beginning and ending timecode as visible in resolve. Make sure that your clips have proper file extension. Also try first opening files in resolve and then importing the XML but keep import media unchecked in the XML import dialogue.
