Okay here goes, The original was shot with a Panasonic Varicam. The post house downconverted DVCPro HD deck directly into a digibeta deck. They then digitized the footage as 10-bit uncompressed 640×480 file. Now I’m taking that and trying the reverse telecine it for a cleaner compressing for web. Upon reviewing the clip, it is definitely showing the 3:2 pull down scheme. I open that clip up in Cinema Tools. Locate where in the pattern the first frame is at, click on reverse with proper setting. It than perceives to reverse it. Upon playing the supposed reverse telecined file, there is a definite interlacing still there. It is 3 progressive frames followed by 1 field frame – it repeats over and over. Any idea why this is happening. Thanks.
