    Hi,

I’m working on a project and I needed to move all my media files into another hard drive.
When I go to reconnect them it shows “Unspecified path”.
It’s a pretty huge amount of files so I can’t relink them one by one.
    Any idea?

    Thanks,

    D

Often it is easier to move footage with the MEDIA MANAGER…using the COPY function.

But moving that footage and reconnecting should work…I do it myself. But this is further proof of FCP’s media management issues. Which is why using the MM might be the better way to go.

I have this problem all the time. I don’t know if it is a help to you but generally the link box is checked that looks for exact file name and when I deselect it I can click on the file I want. Once FCP makes the connection for one file in folder it connects all the other files that are in the same project that are in that folder. It does not require you to re-link every one individually – unless each file is in a different folder.
