  • Problem re-connecting Proxy Mill clips

Posted by Chris Mcelroy on November 11, 2009 at 7:07 pm

I used Proxy Mill to create proxy files from P2 anc XDCAM-EX files and edited with them using FCP 5.5. Now I’m trying to import the project/edl into FCP 6.0 and reconnect the proxy files to the original HD files. While I can import the sequence and all clips, I am unable to reconnect the files.
    Any help appreciated.

DO they have EXACTLY the same names? or is one .mov and the other .mp4? If so, then it is a one clip at a time reconnect, and you turn off the EXACT FILE NAME MATCHING option, and manually look for the right names.

If they are exactly the same… Uhm… well… why aren’t they connecting? Error type?

Yes, the files are mov and mp4, but I already tried reconnecting single clips as you suggest and they still won’t reconnect. The funny thing is, FCP finds the proper clip, but doesn’t reconnect it.

Odd. Try trashing your preferences. I know I tested this when I beta tested Proxy Mill and it worked.

Thanks, I’ll try this in a couple of days. Right now we’re trying to hit a deadline.
