  • Problem: Proxy media and optimized project setting

I was given a project, or library, I guess (fcpx 10.3). It had embedded proxy media. I mistakenly had my view set to optimized media when I opened the project, so everything showed offline. I didn’t realize at the time what the problem was. So I went to finder, show package contents and copied the proxies to another folder. Then I imported them, with my project still set to optimized media. Is there a way to get back to proxy files with proxy setting? And will the editor who has the original media be able to relink? I would really appreciate your help.

The chances of the original editor relinking the files are slim to zero unfortunately. The only real way out is to put the proxies back where they belong, switch to proxy mode and remove all reference to the proxies you imported yourself.
