Hello. I have clips that are HDV 1080i60 that I am trying to output to tape by way of Print To Video on a Sony M1U. I ran into several other problems leading up to this one & can’t seem to find my way around it. The issue I’m having is that when I begin to print to tape the deck’s screen displays the message invalid input. The deck captures the video fine for about five seconds & then it displays the error message & cuts out.

My A/V settings are as follows:

    Sequence: HDV 1080i60
    Capture: HDV
Device control preset: Sony HDV Firewire
    Video playback: none
    audio: default

Under ‘A/V devices tab’ FCP wont let me uncheck the ‘different output for edit to tape/ print to video’ option. Here I have ‘HDV (1440 x 1080) 60i’ selected for video & ‘HDV’ selected for audio.

    Sequence settings are as follows:

    Frame size: 1440 x 1080
    Aspect ratio: HD 1440 x 1080
    field dominance: upper (odd)
    timebase: 29.97
    compressor: HDV 1080i60

The clips have the same settings as these.

Could the odd field dominance have anything to do with it? I thought upper odd was for PAL only & lower even NTSC. True? I’ve tried it both ways and neither works. And fiddled with about everything I think would make a difference, no luck.

Can anyone help or have any 2 cents on the matter? Thank you as always for your input.

    Mike
