So. I have a WAV file of a lecture. I load it into Audition, and it starts to play, then stops outputting. I can see it continue to act as if it’s playing, some sound started to come out, but then it’s like it’s buffering the output or transcoding. I open the same file in numerous other audio players, including Sound Forge 10 and it plays and edits wonderfully. What is wrong? I checked the various setup options in the prefs but nothing jumps out at me. I can actually open it in Premiere, and output it as MP3 with no problem.

It was recorded at 48kHz and I have tried resetting the prefs to reflect that.

Machine is a Lenovo W520 laptop with no extra sound drivers installed. Sound card is properly recognized for Pr, SoundForge, all Windows standard players, and iTunes. Only Audition is having problems.

    Thoughts?

    Here’s some screen grabs.
