  • Problem – Jerky Stills (jpeg) animation

I just did a basic animation on a still jpeg image – basically I keyframed the Scaling. But when it animates the movement is jerky. How do I fix this.

i.e. I’m scalling a 720×480 jpeg from 100% to 70% over 3 secs duration. It’s supposed to scale down smoothly but it’s jerky.

    Thanks.

You have to do it in After Effects.
Avid’s DVE is still a joke, man. It’s been this way since ’95 when the 3D DVE was released with MCv5.

Are you seeing Red lines show up on your timeline? If so, you’ll need to render the effect. Otherwise, select your keyframes and adjust the Acceleration on them. It will help ease in and out of your moves and should smooth playback.
