Problem importing video compressed with XviD MPEG-4
Posted by Robert Osada on December 14, 2005 at 11:44 pmHi!
I have some videos rendered from 3dsmax with XviD MPEG-4. I can play them with Media Player, but when i try to import them into Premiere i see only a black box (and some noise)… Is something missing?
Thanks a lot
Robert

December 15, 2005 at 12:58 amPremiere doesn’t do Mpeg4/Divx, you will have to use something to convert to DV AVi

Make sure you have your matrox codec and your xvid codecs loaded onto the same machine and then open your original file, then save as, choose your target codec, click save, and come back later…
There’s a batch converter (Job Control) as well if you need it.
Virtual Dub works REALLY well, and hasn’t failed me yet. It’s VERY processor intensive, so leave your computer alone as it’s possible to lose audio sync if you do other stuff on your computer.

🙂
Virtual Dub
Load your Xvid codec and your target codec (Microsoft DV, etc.) and then proceed.-Aaron
