    Im new to avid MC, i have footage i captured from a canon xha1 using FinalCut X and i have decided to swich to avid. Everything so far is going well accept for importing the footage into Avid. when i choose import and browse to one of the clips i captured with Final Cut X,its taking way too long to import a single clip,its taking atleast 20mins or more and i have 30clips to import, the video looks great in avid compared to what i saw in finalCut but i know theres gotta be a faster way. somebody help!! please!!

    The clips details are:1440×1080
    MPEG-2 Video,
    Linear, PCM
    Color profile:HD(1-1-1)
    Im running MAC OSX 10.7.5 8Gigs RAM

    Avid is converting the clip when you import. That’s what it needs to do, convert (transcode) to Avid media. 20 min for…how long is the clip?
