  • Problem importing P2 (mxf) footage

I am using the Panasonic HPX-255, Adobe CC on an iMac, OS X 10.10.5

I have two distinct MXF video files in my “VIDEO” folder on my P2 card, but when I import, both files appear in Premiere as the same file, with the same name, and the same content. What gives?

Also, I have been noticing more and more with P2 file imports, that I am getting redundant video files.

P2 cards have a 4GB file size limit. So if you shoot a long shot, it might be broken into two files on the card. BUT, those files are connected…the clip is “spanned” across them. Adobe will know that, and bring it in as a single clip.

    Thank you.
I am shooting interviews, each card has only one or two clips, but my total import is over 7GB, so I think you have solved the mystery for me.
And, alas, it turns out I am not missing any footage.
