This is not a Mac – PC issue. Don’t let that distract you.

PPro CS3 has HDV presets. If you are using them, and your original file is not somehow damaged, something else is amiss.

Can you load the original project in which you captured the file? Can you play the file in anything else? (Windows Media Player, VLC, anything?)

Hi, no i don’t think there’s anything wrong with my original file, it plays fine in Windows Media Player. It just doesn’t like to be imported to Premiere Pro. So maybe that’s just because of the .mpeg format. Loading the original project in which i captured the file would have been a good idea but that doesn’t work either unfortunately…

[Nina Bjer] “Do you happen to have any idea about this thought my friend had that .mpeg + premiere may cause trouble together”

There should not be any problem with a CS3 captured .mpeg from a Z1, you also mentioned that the original project file wouldn’t load either, do other projects and Z1 files work ok? also your computer specs could help to find a solution.

Okej. I haven’t filmed anything else on that camera and don’t have any other .mpeg files. But otherwise my Ppro works fine, with qucktime files and .wmv files. Thats why I think it os the format .mpeg and Ppro that is in some conflict but hope i’m wrong!
Thanks so much to you all for trying to help!! 🙂

Hm maby I could open the file in some other program in order to devide it into two parts and then open it in the converter program, Streamclip to quicktime, cause then it would work to import it into my Ppro… but i have a pc so i don’t know what that program should be…?

I don’t where ur friend is getting information but ppro cs3 is able to work withpeg files. If you captured with the z1p and it was working then something has happened to ur installation.

I don’t understand why u are trying to make the problem the format. It’s not mpeg. If u are able to open the file and play onedia player then the file os not corrupted.

It appears ur situation began two days ago. Trying to convert the file into another format is not the solution here. Reinstalling would have taken an hour.

Thanks ever so much to all of you very kind people trying to help! Jon, I’m sorry should have tried reinstalling when you said! I just did an it works so far!!!! Soooo happy! 🙂 I didn’t think this was the problem since it workd fine to edit other things and since I remembered having problems before installing the program and didn’t want that to happen again. But it worked fine and the problem is solved! So thanks very, very much!!! 🙂
