problem importing media from DVD vob files
I realize this is kind of a long post I hope you will have some patience with me.
My goal is to edit clips from a DVD and render them as wmv files so i can play only the specific clips I want instead having to play the actual DVD and navigate to specific parts. I been able to do so on most of the clips from a particular DVD but I am having problems with a specific vob file of the DVD that has been copied to my hard drive.
Here are the details, I have copied the DVD to the hard drive using DVD shrink. While in Sony Vegas I click on import media, I open the video_TS folder and import the various vob files then split the file and render the clip that I want to an wmv file. I have been able to do this with a different files from the same DVD and another different DVD and had no problems.
It works fine until I get to one particular vob file. When I open the file in windows media player it plays fine. But when I import this one particular vob file to Sony Vegas and start to play it, this is what happens. 1) it begins playing about 20 minutes farther into the clip then when I play it with windows media player, as if that is the begining. For some reason it skips a large chunk of video that I know is there because it plays in windows media playre 2)Also the sound is not in sync with the video I don’t know how far it is off maybe a minute or more.
I don’t understand when I open the same file in windows media player it starts from the beginning and plays fine, when I import it into Sony Vegas and start playing it, it begins about 25 minutes from the beginning and the video and audio are out of sync. But all the other vob files from the same DVD copied onto the hard drive play fine. Just to make sure I copied the DVD again onto the hard drive in case the first copy was corrupted.
I’m thinking of importing the media right off the original DVD but have not yet since it takes a lot longer
Anyone have any ideas?
