I am having a problem importing some h264.mov files. When I try to import them I get a message saying “Unsupported Frame Rate. Final Cut Pro does not support this frame rate or the way it is represented.” I haven’t had problems importing any other h264 files and I can play these outside of FCP with no problem, so I don’t know what is wrong with these particular files. Does any one have any ideas?

Play them in QT and check the codec and frame rate details. That will at least tell you what the frame rate is.

After that it might be better to try Compressor to do a frame and codec conversion to something FCP can edit.

h264 is not an exiting codec it is a delivery format. You should convert the files into a format that will match your timeline settings.
