  • Problem getting Vegas to Render mp4 in 29.9fps

I’m using the Sony AVC rendering a HD 1920×1080 project (29.9) as an mp4. All the custom setting and main settings (using internet 1920x1080p) are set to 29.9. I have switched the custom settings from progressive to Upper Field first.
The render looks great when I play it back as an mp4 on windows media player or quicktime. I’ve ftp’d the file and I keep getting told that when analysed the file reads: 59.9.
Also—i get reports of ‘jittering’ from same people trying to play file back.
Any ideas why the file is getting switched to 59.9 when all settings are 29.9?

Why are you using a custom template? What happens if you use the standard templates that Sony provides? Using Sony AVC with the “Internet 1920×1080-30p” template and it should do what you want.

The problem is the client required interlace—upper field.
in the end I did some tests with progressive–which is what the template is—–and it comes out as 29.9— despite the progressive issue it seemed to solve the problem.

Martin, I’m glad to hear that leaving it at the default solved your problem.
