    Hey,

Maby someone overhere can answer this question:

I got an external disk(an Iomega EHD), who i use for editing(sometimes). This are the best Disk i ever had so far, but it gets pauses, whenever im not using it for 10 minutes.
And its takes 10 s then to work again good. Working all day behind the computers, it gets a little bit frustrating after a while.
It does it only on my computer, on others it works fine.
Does anybody how to fix this problem.

Sounds like the drive is going to sleep.

System Preferences > Energy Savings > Turn OFF “Put Hard Drive to sleep when possible.”

Under the ENERGY SAVER system preference there’s a check box that says, “put hard disk(s) to sleep when possible” make sure that’s not checked. The delay is being caused by the drive spinning back up to speed.

    I hope this helps.
