Problem exporting with compressor.
When I use compressor to export my sequence from FCP, I use DVD best quality 90 minutes option. When I click submit I get a message that says:
Cannot submit batch
Unable to connect to background processCan anyone help me out with this? I have a project due in less than a week and I just need to get it onto DVD. Thank you

Try exporting a Quicktime of your sequence using “Current Settings”.
Then bring the resulting standalone Quicktime file into Compressor, without involving FCP.

Reinstall the “Apple QMaster” that comes with your Compressor.
Don’t install a newer version.

Would upgrading to Final Cut Studio 2 alleviate this problem? Ever since I purchased my new MacPro, Final Cut Studio has been acting up. I never had these problems when I was editing on my iMac.

Hi Jake,
If you are running an Intel Mac you should be using, at least, FC 5.1.
The FC version you are using is for PPC processors.
You are running FC through an intermediate software (Rosseta) that allows the Intel processor to run applications wrote for PPC processors.
I think is time to update. Sure you won’t regret.
FC 6.05 with QT 7.6 are working quite well.

Just a heads up…I upgraded to Final Cut Studio 2 and all my problems were fixed. Thanks for the help!
